My background
Hi, I'm Naichi SHIH
Chinese and English teacher with a passion for languages and cultures
Originally from Taiwan and now based in Grenoble, I've built my career around teaching, communication and intercultural exchange.
I taught Chinese for several years in the United States, to high school and university students, before continuing my teaching work in France.
Today, I teach Mandarin Chinese and English to learners from all walks of life, including adults, students and professionals.
My background
- Native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan
- Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language
- Teaches both traditional and simplified characters
- Six years of experience teaching Chinese in the United States
- CELTA certification for teaching English
- Experience teaching general and business English to adults
- Experience leading language and cultural activities
My teaching philosophy
I believe learning a language should be rewarding, practical and enjoyable all at once.
My approach emphasizes communication, interaction and confidence. I want every student to be able to progress at their own pace, without being afraid of making mistakes.
I also love using language as a way to explore new topics: culture, society, the economy, travel and working life.
Beyond languages
I'm especially interested in exchanges between Asian and European cultures, and I take part in initiatives that help them discover each other.
